"When do I go to 2nd grade?"

Kate, for 2 more weeks is 3 years old. She asked me last night, "when do I go to 2nd grade?" I explained to her the process of school, kindergarten to college. College intrigued her. I explained that when you go to College, you no longer live with your Mommy and Daddy, and her responses were so cute, that I want to remember them forever so posting it is the best way. Kate-"You mean I will not live with you forever?" Me- "No, when you are grown up, you will go to college to learn more and meet new people." Kate-"Will Lyla live with me?" Me-"It depends on if Lyla goes to the same college." Kate- "I hope she does so we can live together. I will take care of her." Me-"That is sweet Kate, sure would be fun." Kate-"Mommy, what about you and Daddy? It would be just you two? But, you two will be together forever." Me (silently- sniff, cute) Kate-"If I am not living with you, I won't be able to get the free cookie at the grocery store. Will Daddy have that for me?" Thanks to Harris Teeter for the free cookies for kids, and thanks to Kate for making my world one incredible place to live.

Fathers Day Weekend

Father's day weekend for us was spent at Smith Mountain Lake, aka "Mimi & Grand Dad's house". We had a wonderful weekend with the Hartsfields, Burlingames and Kendzioras. We sent the Dad's off to golf via boat, we caught fireflies, roasted marshmellows and made smores, we went tubing, watched the Dads on wake skates...it was perfect. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the weekend (and this was hard, there are a LOT of good ones!).
