Mini Zoo

The Durham Museum of Life & Science is our local "mini zoo". They have farm animals outside, Black Bears, Lemurs, Wolves and some indoor snakes, owls, fish, tiny alligators and turtles. They even have a building just for butterflies. They also show how a tornado is formed, they have the best outdoor hanging items that make musical instruments, great learning experience and fun day out on the town.

Easter Sunday

After much anticipation, the Annual Easter Parade took off and this year's hats were the best yet. Easter currently is rivaling Christmas for the best holiday of the year with constant "Easter perks" throughout the weekend, and 3 egg hunts in one weekend filled with money (and Kate likes the coins more than the bills), candy and even underwear!







The Parade...the Reith's even had the "Bunny Cart" for transportation...












The weekend involved a good amount of fishing...



Kate will hold a worm, flick a "rolly polly" to make it roll, hold a frog...and now we know she will grab a fish by it's mouth to throw it back in the water. 3 fish were caught, and three times she just put one finger in the mouth of the fish, and pinched using her thumb to toss it back in. We were impressed by this act of "tomboy" by our very girly girl!


The Saturday Egg Hunt at Mimi & Grand Dad's



Kate is really getting good at Just Dance Kids. These two are in sync! I think Aunt Karen might be buying a Wii to start at home dancing after this fun activity! Check out Kate's booty shaking!

Easter Fun Day

Last year we picked up Dylan from school for a day of Easter Egg decorating, hunting for eggs, Easter arts and crafts, and you know how these little ones remember EVERYTHING? Well, that's how this became a tradition. Kate mentioned months ago that when its time for decorating eggs, we would pick up Dylan for our "Easter Fun Day". She was right, and we did it yesterday, and it's on her "best day ever" list for sure. She does really look up to Dylan, so getting her all by herself for the afternoon is just one of those days she never forgets.
